    • QYZPU and the Kazakh National Medical University launched a two-diploma programme in clinical psychology

      Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University and Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University announced a strategic partnership and the launch of a two-diploma bachelor's degree programme in Clinical Psychology. The Rector of the Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University, Gulmira Qanay, and the Rector of the Kazakh National Medical University, Marat Shoranov, signed the historic co-operation agreement. Thus, the universities joined their efforts to provide students with a unique educational opportunity.

      The programme provides students with the opportunity to learn an important speciality in the health sector while studying simultaneously at two leading national universities. Upon completion, each graduate will receive two diplomas: a bachelor's degree from the National Women's Teacher Training University and a diploma from the  Asfendiyarov National Medical University.

                                                     

      The programme includes an extensive course of study covering the following key areas: diagnostic methods, psycho-correctional approaches, basics of suicidology, anatomy, physiology, psychosomatic medicine, basics of psychiatry and forensic medicine, basics of neurology, internal medicine and so on. Students who successfully complete the training will have a unique combination of psychological and medical knowledge, which will enable them to work successfully in the field of clinical psychology and care for the mental health of patients.

                                                                                 

      During the signing of the agreement, the heads of the universities discussed the prospective objectives of the implementation of the Clinical Psychology programme, the allocation of state educational grants for the 2024-2025 academic year, career guidance work on admission for the 2024-2025 academic year, as well as the passing of specialised accreditation.

      In addition, the leaders expressed their intention to expand cooperation and develop another joint educational programme in special pedagogy, including the conduct of disciplines of the anatomy module.
