    • QYZPU programmers created a cartoon in Kazakh language

Programmers-engineers of the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University Nurlan Kairanbaev and Magzhan Sagitzhan created a cartoon called "Zhumbaksai okigasy" based on the work of the famous scientist and fiction writer Rysbek Baimakhan. The eight-minute cartoon is an exciting adventure of two guys in a mysterious gorge. The engineers created it in just a week. According to them, passionate about the process, they worked day and night.

The plot of the cartoon develops around rural schoolchildren who went on a hike in the mountains and discovered a house, which turns out to be a portal to the city of Almaty. Along the script, reveals amazing and fantastic moments filled with exciting adventures. In total, the cartoon features five characters, including three schoolchildren, one adult and a dog.

Creating a cartoon became a kind of experiment for multimedia programmers. Nurlan Kairanbayev and Magzhan Sagitzhan, being software engineers, took on the roles of cartoonists, animators, director, sound engineer, decoder and even announcer. They used several 3D programs such as Autodesk Maya, Z-brush, Character Creator, Marvelous Designer, Iclone and Photoshop to realize their idea.

Autodesk Maya was used to create the nature, while Z-brush reproduced the details of the faces and wrinkles of the characters. Marvelous Designer helped in designing clothes for the cartoon characters. One of the creators, Nurlan Kairanbayev, noted that it was not only a creative process, but also an economic experiment in the field of animation movie making.

"We wanted not only to create exciting content in the native language for children, but also to test how much resources can be saved in the production of animated films," said Nurlan Kairanbayev.

The voiceover specialist, famous announcer Gulnazid Omarova, joined the project by voicing three characters in the cartoon. The fourth character was voiced by one of the creators, programmer Magzhan Sagitzhan. The growling and barking of the dog was downloaded from the Internet.

Programmers-engineers from the Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University plan to continue their creative work and create more cartoons in the state language for children. Their project has become an example of an innovative approach to creating multimedia content, demonstrating that programmers are able not only to write code, but also to realize their creative ideas in the world of animation.
