    • Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University hosted a screening of the film on gender violence

      As part of the annual UN global campaign "16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence", on November 30 2022 a film screening of the documentary film "Беги" ("Run") by Kazakhstani director Rinat Balgabayev was held at Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University. At the end of the film, discussion was held with the participation of the film director and experts. The event was attended by representatives of the crisis center "Zhan-Saya" and candidate of psychological sciences, teacher of Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University Aliya Baizdrakhmanova.

      The event was organized with the support of the Center for Social and Gender Studies of Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University.

      The film "Беги" was released in the pandemic year of 2020 when there was an increase in domestic violence all over the world due to social restrictions. The film author explores the causes and consequences of domestic violence in Kazakhstan, as well as the extent, since there are no real statistics on domestic violence.

      The event was held under the auspices of the Regional Program Spotlight initiative in Central Asia, with the support of UN Women in Kazakhstan.
