      ALMATY. MAY 24. PRESS CENTER - The Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University held a regular meeting in connection with the work to explain the Referendum on June 5. Almaty Maslikhat deputies Yesengeldi Talbidinov, Asiya Akanova, and journalist Erganat Kopjasar took part in the explanatory work. The meeting was attended by the administration and lecturers, university students, and the representatives of mass media.

      The meeting was opened by the Chair of the Managing Board Gulmira Qanay, who spoke about the importance of the referendum and gave a turn to the journalist Erganat Kopjasar.

      - The biggest change in the referendum is the transition to the majoritarian-proportional system of parliamentary elections... That is, the referendum allows making two big choices. In addition, the norm that land and groundwater, as well as flora, fauna, and other resources of the country belong to the people is clearly and finally established. That's good news. It's a positive change, - Erganat Kopjasar said in his speech.

      Vice-rector for strategic development and social work of the university Zhanar Rysbekova acted as a moderator of the meeting and gave the turn to the deputy of Maslikhat Asiya Akanova. She noted that participation in politics - is the civic duty of everyone, in addition, any change does not happen quickly and the reform begins with concrete steps.

      - For the first time in our history, a referendum will be held. We can't implement new political reforms without changing the Constitution in the right direction,- said Yesengeldi Talbidinov and proved by examples that the referendum gives a lot of opportunities for economic reforms.

      The speakers explained in detail the general meaning of the word "Referendum", the changes and additions to the Constitution, the importance of the concrete step in the creation of a new Kazakhstan, and called the gathered to take part in the referendum on June 5.

      At the end of the meeting, there was a discussion of questions and answers about the referendum.
