      ALMATY. 19 MAY. PRESS CENTER - The Chair of the Managing Board - Rector of Kazakh National Women's Teacher Training University Gulmira Qanay and a group of vice-rectors gave the final report for the academic year 2021-2022 to the students of the university.

      The Chair of the Managing Board - Rector of the University Gulmira Qanay, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs-Managing Board member Zhumankulova Yerkin, Vice-Rector for Research and International Cooperation Jumakulov Zakir , Vice-rector for strategic development and social work Rysbekova Zhanar, Vice-rector for infrastructure development Abdrashev Zhaksylyk took part in the final report, who analyzed the achievements in their field for one academic year and shared the plans for the next academic year.

      – The University is included in many international rankings. We all know that the rating is an indicator of the work of a higher educational institution. At the Kazakhstani and global level, in 2019 our university was among the best, and in 2020 we have improved our results. We are a member of the international ranking system QS World University Rankings. We also plan to participate in another international ranking system, Times Higher Education.

      Thus, the Chair of the Managing Board Gulmira Qanay began her speech with an international assessment of the University and noted that our educational programs have been successfully accredited.

      This year, more than 8,000 students studied at our university. 90% of them are undergraduate students, 5% are college students, 4% are master's degree students, and 1% are doctoral degree students. In addition, the number of students enrolled this year doubled from last year.

      The university's system of international relations has also expanded, agreements have been signed with more than 70 universities in 23 countries, and today our students improve their knowledge in many universities around the world. A contract with Hong Kong Educational University, one of the best universities in the field of education, is also under consideration.

      In her report, the Chair of the Managing Board spoke about establishing partnerships with 13 pre-schools, 39 comprehensive schools, and private schools, and about updating the university's information structure and curriculum next year.

      The Rector also informed the students about combating law violations during the session and corruption, such as bribery, and to report violations to the Compliance Center at the university.

      In her closing remarks, Gulmira Qanay spoke about constitutional changes in the country, called for a vote on the June 5 referendum, and explained the nature of the referendum.

      The report meeting continued with separate reports and final reports from the Vice-rectors of each branch. Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Yerkin Zhumankulova noted that students must have priority in academic mobility, to ensure the development of our educational programs following international standards. She also emphasized that competition for education is a modern requirement for students, and everyone should take responsibility for their education.

      Vice-rector for Research and International Cooperation Zakir Jumakulov said that this year the main focus was on international relations and the signing of important memorandums. He noted that the main focus is to increase the library fund. In addition, this year the library will be replenished with new textbooks, and next year this trend will continue. He also said that the number of students participating in research clubs and working on new projects will increase.

      The field, which is headed by the vice-rector for strategic development and social work Zhanar Rysbekova, is wide. The work of the department, which pays special attention to the education, social status, and personal development of students, boils every day. Zhanar Rysbekova said that the student organizations and their achievements can be seen in the received certificates of merit, letters of thanks, and monetary certificates. However, she identified the direction of the creation of new student organizations, attracting students to each organization, each center, who can share new ideas.

      Vice-rector for the development of infrastructure Zhaksylyk Abdrashev noted that the swimming pool «Aqqu» of our university has been overhauled and put into operation. He said that in each dormitory classrooms were opened, filled with popular literature, installed additional surveillance cameras, developed a plan for public funding for the modernization of equipment and laboratories, as well as invited an investor to build a new dormitory to replace the dining hall «Ulpan».
